Le Perche - all it has to offer

There has been talk of a federal week in the Orne for the past 20 years, and especially in le Perche. We have to go back to 1998, when a Lent cycle tourism rally was organised in Mortagne au Perche. The thousand cyclists who participated really appreciated our beautiful region and asked us to organise other rallies, and why not a Federation week? Since 2011 the Lower Normandy league invited you to come and discover the Flers region.

As a whole new life was about to begin for quite a few of us (retiring from work!) it seemed an appropriate time to launch into this GREAT HUMAN ADVENTURE - the organisation of an International Federal Week of bicycle tourism, so a “dream team” was put together in early 2014. Since then, this team of volunteers, which is growing daily, has been working nonstop to prepare a wonderful welcome for you, so that you can discover our beautiful region in the best possible conditions. Le Perche, be it the part that is in the Orne, the Sarthe, or the Eure, is in the beautiful Normandy region that offers you many different facets: history, architecture, tourism and gastronomy. This week, the name of the game will be CONVIVIALITY AND COURTESY: for example, in the event of any controversy, it will be dealt with by the Conviviality Committee.

Firstly, many thanks to the French Federation of Cycle Tourism for their confidence in us. A VERY GREAT THANK YOU to all the cycle club volunteers, but also to the other associations, thank you to the many institutions and collectivities that are working with us; the State, the Region, the County, the Mortagne local authorities, the town of Mortagne, the 150 towns and villages taking part, thank you to the towns providing reception points, thank you to the advertisers and finally, a big THANK YOU to you, the cycle tourists who are accepting our invitation. From now on we are at your service, to accompany you in the preparation of your stay in Mortagne-au-Perche and its region, in a CONVIVIAL ATMOSPHERE.
